This is our chat page, which can be used to talk in real-time to other members. Anyone can sign on and is welcome to use it. At the bottom of this page is a link to sign on; when you do, a Java applet will open in a new tab and log you in. Depending on your browser, you might get a security popup like this:

Just select "Run". The applet is perfectly safe, it's just using an older version of Java. Give the applet a bit to load, and you should see something like this:

The righthand column lists the nicknames of whoever is currently on. By default, your name will show as "JavaGuest". To change it, type "/nick yourname" but without the quotes and of course replacing "yourname" with your name. I (Elijah) am usually signed in and hopefully we'll get some more people to join in as well.
A common courtesy of IRC is to give people a chance to acknowledge you. Don't sign on and expect someone to be there instantly. Users aren't always giving it 100% attention, especially when there's only a few of them; ok? :-) Click here to sign on.
